At St Mary’s we believe in giving children opportunities to learn about themselves and the world we live in. We believe in giving children a voice and encouraging them to use it to impact things they are inspired by or feel passionately about.  We use Picture news to support this learning.  We look at current stories in the news and how these affect us, our country, our world. Picture news provides resources which are designed to provide opportunities for children to learn from our world and develop respect for other’s beliefs, feelings and faiths.  This encourages exploration, discussion, challenge and inspires children to learn. Picture news is good opportunity for children to understand and reflect upon the importance of British Values, the Rights of the Child and Catholic Social teachings.
