St. Mary's Football Team lose against Elson

St. Mary's played against Elson at Bridgemary and lost the final score was 3:5.

The games started with Stanley in goal for the first half and he performed admirably. Within the first 5 minutes Elson scored. Shortly afterwards Alex was one on one with their goalie and scored bringing the game to 1 a piece. Our midfield looked tired and didn't get back quick enough to support the defence when Elson were on the attack wich allowed them to score a further three goals before half time. Half time score 1:4.

In the second half Alex took the goalie shirt, and within a few minutes after a St. Mary's penalty Elson scored an own goal. Then Marcus had an opportunity one on one with the goalie and he scored shooting it into the bottom left hand corner. The game was now 3:4 to Elson, however in the final seconds there was a corner kick for Elson that they managed to turn into a goal ending the game 3:5.

The team did better in the second half and managed to bring the game to Elson but were denied by the cross bar a couple of times.

The team consisted of Alex B., Stanley P., Marcus O., Weronika W., Molly C., Drew M., and Kacper P..
