St. Mary's Mixed Football Team took part in Chelsea FC Hampshire Premier League Tournament

For the very first time this season St. Mary's had a mixed football team representing the school.

The U11 6 a-side tournament took place at Bridgemary School and 12 schools from across Hampshire took part.

In St. Mary's group we had Grange Junior, Siskin Junior and St. Judes. The team consisted of Molly C., Weronika, Alex B., Joe E., Ben L., Drew M., Marcus O., and Stanley P..

Our first game was against Grange Junior School. The only attempt on goal was from a lovely pass from Stanley that Marcus connected with but was saved by their goalkeeper who leaped like a frog to save it. The teams were evenly matched that resulted in a draw 0:0.

After a lengthy wait our second game was between St. Judes. They were an excellent team that showed great control on the ball, that contributed to them winning the game 2:0.

Our final game was against Siskin Junior School. The team showed great spirit after just been defeated by St. Judes and it paid off because Alex scored two goals. Thanks to Joe it remained 2:0 to us, after he made a superman save across goal in the final minute of the game.

The tournament was well supported by parents so thank you very much.
